Driving to Selous will take about 4 to 5 hours. Arrive for boat safari starting from 1630hrs until sunset. Boat safari brings you into close contact with hippo, crocodile and fantastic birdlife. Animals make their way to the river to drink and boat may approach elephant, waterbuck and other on the river banks to within a few meters. We arrive at the camp in the early afternoon, settle in and set off for evening boat safari along the mighty Rufiji River. The river is formed by the confluence of Kilombero and Luwegu rivers. It is about 600 kilometers (370 mi) long and you will see many hippos and crocodiles here. Large herds of elephants in Tanzania are also attracted to the Rufiji River which runs through the reserve.
