Tangier has been Europe's gateway to Africa during many years, and it has been the home for many different cultures during it's whole history (it has been under Morocco's control only since 1956).

The Grande Mosquée of Tangier was the first mosque in Morocco, an architectural wonder and historic landmark in the heart of the Old Town. Now a National Heritage site, it remains one of the country’s most popular tourist attractions and a symbol of the city. The mosque was founded in 859 on the site of an earlier church that was converted into a place of worship after Mohammed’s arrival in Morocco. • Caves of Hercules(Pass by)

    Admission Ticket Free
The Hercules Cave is a mythical destination that has fascinated travelers for centuries. This cave is said to be a gateway to the Underworld. The Hercules Cave gets its name from the story of Hercules and his twelve labors, which includes finding this cave. This cave is surrounded by mists, piles of rocks, and an underground stream. The legend states that if one walks into the cave he will find Hercules waiting inside with his club and bow.
