Highlights

The guided night walk of the historic city of Ahmedabad begins at
Mangaldas Ni Haveli and takes you through most ancient parts of
the city and you will walk through narrow lanes, fits old havelis
and monuments to arrive at the crowded food court at Manek
chowk. There is a small room above the gateway leading to raja
no hajiro, you will witness a tradition that dates back 600 years
- or drummers signaling the closing of the city gates at 11 PM
every night. Carrying a copy of Ahmedabad City Guide that we
provide as a PDF that will make the walks more insightful and
allow you to take the history home with you.

The name of the cafe inside the haveli “Pol Kholi Café ”is kept as it attempts to open the secrets of the old city streets to the residents of the POL, tourists and visitors.

    The haveli is around 250-year-old having beautiful wooden carved brackets and pillars. It is said to be the best example of Vaastu shastra principle-based construction architecture and has an underground water tank where the rain water is collected through a copper pipeline and conserved throughout the year.

    The famous Ahmed shah's tomb also known as Raja No Haziro is situated in Manek Chowk area close to Jumma Masjid and opposite to Rani no Hajiro. The mosque consists of tomb or Ahmed Shah I, the founder or Ahmedabad city, while the grandson of Ahmed shah Qut-ud-Din Shah is buried to his right. The mosque was completed in 1414 by his son Muhammad shah.
