Itinerary

  • Nyhavn

    10 minsAdmission Ticket Free
The houses surrounding Nyhavn are all nearly 350 years old. They have been renovated to look a lot more colourful and with the hopes of changing the vibe of the area from gloomy to cosy. In the 1970s, the street was turned into a pedestrian street. Today, Nyhavn holds the nickname "The longest outdoor bar in Scandinavia" due to its many restaurants, pubs, and cafés open 24 hours a day. Nyhavn was once the home of author Hans Christian Andersen.
  • Copenhagen King's New Square

    10 minsAdmission Ticket Free
Kongens Nytorv is a square next to Nyhavn with an equestrian statue of King Christian V, who had the square built. Many historical buildings can be seen around the square: • The Magasin du Nord (French for “Shop of the North”) is a Danish department store chain whose flagship store is located at Kongens Nytorv. • The Hotel d’Angleterre (French Hotel of England). Through the years, this hotel has housed famous names such as Winston Churchill, Bill Clinton, Ozzy Osbourne, Niel Diamond and many more.
  • The King's Garden

    10 minsAdmission Ticket Free
The King’s Garden is the oldest park and royal garden in Copenhagen. Established by Christian IV, it was designed in the Renaissance style.
  • Rosenborg Castle

    10 minsAdmission Ticket Not Included
Rosenborg Castle was built as a summer residence for Christian IV. When visiting the Castle, visitors can travel back in time and experience everyday life and the festive aspects of royal life over 400 years. To top it off, this is where the Danish crown jewels are kept. They are the only crown jewels in the world that are both on display as museum exhibits and worn by royalty.
  • The Round Tower

    10 minsAdmission Ticket Not Included
The Rundetårn, or "Round Tower" was built in the 1600s and is the oldest observatory in Europe still functioning, however it was not the first observatory built in Denmark. Famous Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe developed the "Tychonian" system which was an in-depth model of the solar system, something new and very advanced for the time.
  • Grabrodretorv

    10 minsAdmission Ticket Free
Gråbrødetorv, or “The Grey Friars Square,” is a picturesque square named after the Franciscan monastery that once stood on it. It is home to the Stone of Shame. The original stone is kept at the Natural History Museum, and its story belongs to the daughter of Christian IV, Leonora Christina.
  • Church of the Holy Spirit

    5 minsAdmission Ticket Free
Helligåndskirken (The Church of the Holy Ghost) is one of Copenhagen’s oldest churches, built in the 1200s. Initially, there was no tower.
  • Stroget

    10 minsAdmission Ticket Free
Strøget is Copenhagen’s and one of Europe’s longest pedestrian streets, with a length of 1.11 kilometres. Strøget is mainly known for its shopping and not without good reason; starting at the Town hall and ending at the Kongens Nytorv near Nyhavn, you find a vast range of shops here. Along the street, you’ll find a lot of street performers, such as acrobats, magicians and musicians.
  • Hoejbro Plads

    10 minsAdmission Ticket Free
Højbro Plads, or “Højbro Square”, was built after the great fire of Copenhagen in the 1700s. Højbro Plads is decorated with an equestrian statue of Bishop Absalon, the founder of Copenhagen. One of Copenhagen’s many Christmas markets is held here in the wintertime.
  • Christiansborg Slot

    1 hoursAdmission Ticket Included
Christiansborg Palace, the seat of Danish Parliament today, was once the home of Danish royals. From antiques to modern gems, the Palace is an art collection. You won't want to miss The Queen's Tapestries!
