Highlights

This 10 day tour starts with two overnights in the Greek capital of Athens. You will be staying at a 5 star hotel in the center within walking distance to all sites worth seeing in Athens (Day 2). The next day we will transport you to Ancient Corinth (as in Corinthians of the bible) on the Peloponnese peninsula which is the top destination in the mainland. From Ancient Corinth you will cycle 36 mi / 57 km to the 1st Greek capital of Nafplio through Argos for two overnights. You will then cycle back to Ancient Corinth through Mycenae (Days 3-6). On Day 7 you will fly to the island of Santorini, a top destination in the world (Days 8-9). You will explore Santorini with an included scooter. In summary: This tour provides a brief overview of mainland and island Greece. Through our knowledge and connections we offer best in class accommodations, convenient transportation and bicycle rental at reasonable prices. Bookings may be rejected if made less than 30 days prior to start date.

You stay at a 5 star hotel in the center of Athens within the fashion and commercial district, walking distance to Syntagma Square and walkable distance to the Acropolis Hill, old town “Plaka”, New Museum of the Acropolis, the Ancient Agora, Tourist flea market, etc. The hotel features a Roof top restaurant & bar with splendid views of the Acropolis Hill and the city of Athens. The views are especially splendid at night when the Acropolis hill is beautifully lit.

    Situated in the center of Athens, Syntagma (i.e. Constitution) Square lies in front of the Parliament Building and the tomb of the unknown soldier. It is where the Athenians rose up against King Otto of Greece on 3 September 1843 to demand a constitution. Just behind the parliament building lie the barracks of the Evzones (i.e. Marines in traditional uniform). Every hour they march from their barracks to the Tomb of the Unknown soldier for the changing of guards.

It's used for various events, and is also open to visitors. It was rebuilt in marble by Herodes Atticus, an Athenian Roman senator, by 144 AD it had a capacity of 50,000 seats. After the rise of Christianity in the 4th century it was largely abandoned. The stadium was excavated in 1869 and hosted the Zappas Olympics (i.e. 1st and 2nd modern day Olympics) in 1870 and 1875.

    Depart from Ancient Corinth by 10:00 AM and ride 27 miles/44 km to the city of Argos on the way to Nafplio. You should arrive at Argos by 1:00 PM. Stop and enjoy a beverage there. Depart by 2:00 PM. As a strategic location on the fertile plain of Argolis, Argos was a major stronghold during the Mycenaean era. In classical times, Argos was a powerful rival of Sparta for dominance over the Peloponnese, but was eventually shunned by other Greek city-states after remaining neutral during the Greco-Persian Wars.

Mycenae is a world heritage archaeological site, home of King Agamemnon, who launched the Trojan War on behalf of his brother Menelaus. Visit the archaeological site there. Depart by 1:30 PM.

    Flight time from Athens to Santorini is approximately 1 hour. You should plan to arrive in Santorini by 7:00 PM. We can arrange for your transportation between the airport and the hotel which is not included in the price of the tour or you can simply get a taxi. Once at the hotel, you can pick up your 2-person scooter included in the price. You'll need to have an international drivers license. You will be spending the night in Santorini and therefore you will be there at least 5 hours on Day 7. You can spend the rest of the day in the hotel. Pool, beach, bar, gift shop, surrounding area or your room. Can also purchase a variety of excursions at the reception of your hotel.
