Since Forbidden City must be reserved 7 days in advance, the number of tickets for Forbidden City is seriously limited in high season.
When we fail to grab the online tickets for you, you need to queue in line at the ticket office (5-30 minutes) and tell the staff that you are not in guided tour. Then you could purchase the on site paper tickets.
