    Colossi of Memnon Two colossal stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, standing in front of the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III, located in Thebes, Luxor, Egypt. These statues date back to 1350 BC and are made of blocks of quartzite sandstone that were quarried and transported from Jabal al-Ahmar (near present-day Cairo) to Thebes. The statues are located west of the modern city of Luxor and face east towards the Nile River. The statues depict the king seated on a throne and stand 60 feet high. The Colossus of Memnon has become one of the biggest tourist attractions in Luxor, gaining fame due to its majestic appearance and the mystical sounds emitted by the giant northern statue at sunrise, known as the "Vocal of Memnon." The origin of the Colossians is unknown. , but legend has it that it brought good luck to those who listened to its strange sounds.

    The Karnak Temple Complex, located in Karnak, Luxor Governorate, Egypt, is considered one of the largest and most important religious complexes in ancient Egypt. The construction of the complex began during the reign of Senusret I (1971-1926 BC) in the Middle Kingdom and continued until the Ptolemaic Kingdom (305-30 BC). It consists of a wide range of decaying temples, stupas, chapels, and other buildings, the most famous of which is the Great Column Hall, which has 134 massive columns arranged in 16 rows. The complex was built over a period of more than 1,000 years, mainly between Dynasties 12 and 20. In 2001, the World Monuments Fund (WMF) undertook emergency installation and repair, removal of salts and chemicals, and developed a long-term conservation remediation plan to address ongoing monitoring and maintenance issues On site.
