After the historical presentation of the city, the guide will accompany you through the French and English gardens of the National Estate to the Grande Terrasse designed by Le Nôtre which overlooks the Seine as far as Paris. You will see the Château Neuf, birthplace of the Sun King. You will then walk through the historic districts and discover the mansions. Along this walk, you will also discover the shops and boutiques that make Saint-Germain-en-Laye an ideal place for shopping.
For centuries, some shops and brands have been veritable institutions. One of the culinary specialties of the city will be offered to you during the visit: the Saint Germain Specialty cake created by Monsieur Blanc who officiated in the establishment now known as the Hardy pastry shop*. The cake consists of eggs, butter, sugar and ground almonds.
