The Villa is a small jewel surrounded by gardens, where the Chigi family, powerful bankers, celebrated the wedding of Agostino with the courtesan Francesca Ordeaschi. The complex was designed by Peruzzi and decorated by himself and important artists. Famous is the lodge with the stories of Psyche, designed by Raphael and executed by his collaborators. Even Sebastiano del Piombo, great friend of Michelangelo, just arrived from Venice, gave his contribution in the horoscope room. Here, Raphael, in love, immortalized a famous woman in his Galatea.
