    We will drive down Broadway, pointing out the Gilbert District and its vibrant, thriving restaurants, art galleries, boutiques, and antique stores. The historic district is home to more than 30 local businesses. During the tour, we will share fun facts, such as the bar built from a jail, the largest screen for watching the big game, and the reputedly spookiest tavern and why it has that reputation. We will also point out The End of the Lewis and Clark Trail, the Promenade trails, the most popular festivals, and beach clean-up activities.

Here, we’ll explain the dramatic history of the Columbia River Bar, one of the most dangerous crossings in the world. We'll also stop at Battery Russell, a historic military fortification once used for coastal defense. Learn about its wartime history and how the Friends of Fort Stevens are working to preserve and restore the site—plus hear about some of the exciting events they’re hosting this season!
