Glide Through Atami in a Unique, Open-Air Vehicle
Discover the sights and sounds of Atami in a way you've never imagined. You'll travel in a "Green Slow Mobility" vehicle, our modern, eco-friendly electric shuttle. This isn't just transport; it's a core part of your adventure.
Hear the Town: Quieter than any car, this slow-moving vehicle lets you clearly hear the sounds of the city, the breeze from the ocean, and your guide's commentary.
* Perfect Photos: With no windows to get in the way, you can capture stunning, unobstructed photos of the blossoms and scenery.
A Personal Experience: The intimate, open-air setting means you'll be close to your English-speaking guide, making it easy to engage, ask questions, and discover the hidden stories of Atami.
The MOA Museum of Art (MOA美術館): Where Art, Nature, and Architecture Unite
Our first stop is the magnificent MOA Museum of Art (MOA美術館), a true architectural wonder perched high on the hillsides of Atami.
Your journey to the main exhibition hall is an experience in itself. You will ascend through a fantastical, long escalator tunnel, a work of art filled with a kaleidoscope of changing lights and ambient sound, transporting you to the world of beauty that awaits above.
Once inside, you'll be greeted by two masterpieces: the museum's world-class art collection and its breathtaking panoramic views of Sagami Bay and the Atami coastline. The museum's core collection focuses on Japanese and East Asian art, featuring designated National Treasures. You'll have time to explore:
Masterpieces of Japanese Art: See works from renowned artists like Hokusai (葛飾北斎) and proponents of the Rimpa school (琳派).
The Golden Tea Room: A stunning, full-size replica of the opulent tea room built in the 16th century for Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
Seasonal Gardens: Wander through the traditional Japanese garden, where seasonal flowers and tranquil paths create a sense of peace "just beyond everyday life."
🌸 Atami Plum Garden (熱海梅園): Japan's Earliest Blossoms
After immersing yourself in art, we glide to the Atami Plum Garden (熱海梅園), famous across Japan for hosting the earliest-blooming plum blossoms (ume) of the year. This historic garden is a fragrant paradise, featuring:
469 trees across 60 varieties, including ancient trees over 100 years old.
A vibrant Plum Blossom Festival, where you can fully enjoy the sea of white and pink blooms.
Local delights such as ashiyu (foot baths), which are open during the festival, and charming souvenir shops.
🌸 Itogawa Promenade (糸川遊歩道): Atami's First Cherry Blossoms
To complete this incredible floral experience, our final stop is the Itogawa Promenade (糸川遊歩道). This is where you'll witness a true Atami miracle: the blooming of the Atami-zakura (熱海桜).
This special, deep-pink cherry blossom is one of the very first to bloom in all of Japan, often appearing as early as late January. This tour offers the rare and magical chance to see both plum blossoms and cherry blossoms on the same day—a true sign that spring has already arrived in Atami.
