Wanted by Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor and King of Sicily, the fortress offers numerous pearls of history, mysteries and symbols. Its octagonal shape, which makes it unique in its kind, is emblematic of its symbolism. The octagon embodies the union of two geometric shapes, the circle and the square, one symbolizing the heaven and the other the earth. You will hear the history and the fascinating life of Emperor Frederick II of Swabia and his wives. Even though the reason as to why the castle was built is not clear. This castle has been studied over the years so as to understand its history and real use. Even today, it still fascinates visitors, scholars and those curious. It will never cease to surprise us.
