Levada do Caldeirão Verde begins at the Forest Park of Queimadas in Santana. As we go through this route, we reach the interior of the Ribeira de São Jorge valley, offering unique landscapes and passing through tunnels excavated by Man. It needs attention because the floor is slippery, pay attention to the height of the tunnel and carry a flashlight. You can have a picnic before returning (not included).

Levada do Caldeirão Verde
Walk in Santana. Starting from the refuge house of the Queimadas and walking along the levada of the Serra de São Jorge, we advance through an emerald green paradise. Shortly thereafter you can enjoy magnificent views of the villages below. (walk with a duration of 4.5 to 5 hours). IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: We would like to inform you that from January 1, 2025, the Forestry Institute of Madeira, together with the government authorities, implemented a TAX of 3€ per person on all official hiking of RP. It is a fee for the collection of waste and cleaning of the Classified Pedestrian Trails. This tax is NOT included in the price. The customer must make the payment on the day, at the place of the walk.
