Highlights

Jump aboard our desert classic 4x4 and experience the most beautiful “Highlights” Wadi Rum has to offer. Your bedouin guide will share all the information you need about each location.

Have the chance to sandboard on the sand dunes of Wadi rum for free, explore ancient canyons and climb over natural stone arches.

After a full day of exploring, you can choose between sleeping in our traditional bedouin camp or opt for the once in a lifetime opportunity to sleep under the desert stars.

We’ll light up a fire, make some nice warm Bedouin tea and prepare a delicious dinner. We will provide you mattresses, warm blankets & pillows, as nights in the desert can get quite cold. Jump aboard our desert classic 4x4 and experience the most beautiful “Highlights” Wadi Rum has to offer. Your bedouin guide will share all the information you need about each location. We start by passing through the Wadi Rum Village
  • Lawrence’s Spring

    30 minsAdmission Ticket Free
Known as ‘Ain Abu Aineh’ in Arabic. This is the spring where TE Lawrence, the British general who helped the Arabs in their revolt against the Ottoman Empire, stopped to drink and bathe in during his journey across the desert. Once you reach the spring, views looking out over the valley are spectacular. Camels plod and stretch long legs at the base of the slope, next to various inscriptions of Thamudic origin. These animals nightly make their pilgrimage towards the spring, signifying this place as a beacon for nature’s precious water source.
  • Wadi Rum Protected Area

    1 hoursAdmission Ticket Free
Stop for lunch (Traditional Gallaya, Hummus, Tuna, Salad, Jordanian bread, Juice).
  • Al Ramal Red Sand Dune

    30 minsAdmission Ticket Free
Among the vast expanses of rust-coloured sand in the Wadi Rum desert, the Red Sand Dune, or ‘Al Hasany’ in Arabic, is one of the most famous ones. Officially named Al Ramal it has become better known by its descriptive name. It stands out against a cliff side like it is part of the mountain. Coloured red by the presence of iron oxide, this dune is fine and soft underfoot making it perfect to walk up barefoot! One activity our Bedouin guides are happy to share with guests is sandboarding! Sand is more difficult to ride than snow or ice due to higher traction. However, accomplished boarders can manoeuvre without difficulty. Alternatively you can sit and skid all the way from top to bottom. A toboggan ride like no other.
  • Lawrence’s House

    30 minsAdmission Ticket Free
Nobody is certain that this was Lawrence’s house, although there are stories that he both stayed and/or stored weapons here. The current structure is built upon the remains of a Nabataean building, however, and it’s another beautiful spot in the desert. There is little left of this building, erected on the Nabataean ruins of a water cistern. Nonetheless, legend has it that Lawrence stayed here during the Arab Revolt and that makes it a must on the regular 4WD circuits of the area. Near the building is a Nabataean inscription that mentions the area’s ancient name of Iram. The remote location and uninterrupted view of the red sand dunes are the main attractions.
  • Jebel Khazali

    30 minsAdmission Ticket Free
Jebel Khazali, a peak situated in the centre of Wadi Rum, opens up in a narrow fissure of about 100m length. Its inner walls are covered with Thamudic, Nabatean, and Islamic inscriptions, as well as petroglyphs depicting humans and animals. Remarkable are the soles of feet petroglyphs, which probably had religious significance.
  • Mount Rum(Pass by)

    Admission Ticket Free
Located on the side of a mountain, this is an especially impressive collection of Thamudic and Nabataean petroglyphs, complete with ancient drawings of camel caravans. The Thamud people, who lived in Wadi Rum from around 800 BC are said to be the ones annihilated by Allah. The engravings they left behind give an essential insight into their tribe’s history.
  • Um Frouth Rock Arch

    30 minsAdmission Ticket Free
Is one of the most photographed and the most popular places in Wadi Rum desert. The bridge is about 15 metres up from the desert floor. With directions and maybe some assistance from your tour guide the steep climb is easy. Still, for people with some degree of vertigo or minor limitations the climb can be quite a challenge. The narrow bridge can be challenging too. But the beautiful views over the yellow mountains of Um Fruth make up for this big time. And if you decide not to climb the bridge it is still well worth it to pay a visit
  • Little Bridge

    30 minsAdmission Ticket Free
The smallest of those, ‘Raqabat al Wadak’, is commonly known as ‘Little Bridge’. Little Bridge is a landmark at the centre of the Red Desert sites of Wadi Rum. It enjoys views over the intersection of the major valleys in Wadi Rum known as Khor al Ajram. The rock bridge is 4 metres above the rocks below and around 7 metres above the valley floor, therefore making it relatively easy to climb for visitors.
  • Mushroom Rock

    20 minsAdmission Ticket Free
Sometimes nature performs small miracles. One of them is the Mushroom Rock. Over the centuries, rain and winds have carved this sandstone and gave it the shape of mushroom.
  • Wadi Rum Protected Area

    45 minsAdmission Ticket Free
The White Desert is located near the Saudi border, 40 km south of Wadi Rum village. The landscape is similar to the Wadi Rum desert, but the sand is white. It is also an amazing place to see the sunset from.
