In the half-light of pre-dawn, transfer to Kaikōura’s

airfield, 15-minutes south of the township. Following a quick check-in

and safety briefing, take to the skies in South Pacific Helicopter’s EC130

Eurocopter. This spacious, high-end helicopter features a comfortable cabin
and

large windows, ideal for sightseeing.

After take-off, you’ll fly inland, over lakes, rivers

and plains, toward the mountains of the Seaward Kaikōura Ranges, where you’ll

land for a unique photo opportunity. Taking to the skies again, you’ll track

down the coast towards EcoZip’s base at beautiful Rakanui Station, a working

Kiwi hill farm. Along the way, look out for whales and dolphins in the broad,

blue, sweep of South Bay.

Landing at Rakanui, you’ll meet your zipline guides

who’ll supply the glasses and a bottle of local sparkling wine (or orange

juice) so you toast the dawn. Next, in the quiet and solitude of the early

morning, you’ll enjoy our zipline experience in your private group. As this is

your exclusive tour, you set the pace, allowing you to enjoy the spectacular

views as you walk between zipline decks, listening to birdsong and, in the

gathering light, watching the Kaikōura peninsula come to life.

At the end of our 5th zipline you’ll undertake a short

walk beneath the canopy of native New Zealand forest, before boarding your

vehicle for the return journey, back to the hustle and bustle of

Kaikōura. As a memento of your experience, we’ll plant 5 eco-sourced New

Zealand native trees for each member of your party, creating a permanent bond

between you and lovely Rakanui.
