This is off-the-beaten trail which is ideal for those people who wants to explore the untouched culture and traditional life style of indigenous Tamang and Tibetan people as the trekking route covers culture, religion and daily lifestyle of Tamang community of Langtang region.
Itinerary
Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival
Day 02: Kathmandu to Sybrubesi (1460m)
We head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Sybrubesi passing through Dhunche. While passing along the road at the bank of Trisuli River and green hills.
Day 03: Syabrubesi to Gotlang(2240m)
From Sybrubesi look for the shortcut heading west that avoids the huge looping switchbacks of the road. After an hour and half of ascent from Sybrubesi we reach the view point from we can see the fantastic view of Ganesh Himal, Gosaikund range and the Goijang valley.walk along the upper dirt road for a coupleof hours to the lovely traditional village of Gotlang, the largest tamang settlement in the area. It is famous place for the song of local Tamang language.
Day 04: Gotlang to Tatopani (2600m)
After a morning in Gotlang, we walk begins by descending to Thambuchetby the river. The trail will be ascending up crossing the hanging bridge. Ascend continue until you get to Taropani which literally means ‘hot water’. You can clean yourself in natural hot springs with believe that the water have a healing quality that eases away your aches and pains. Overnight stays at local house.
Day 05: Tatopani to Nagthali Ghyang (3300m)
The trail ascends to Nagthali Ghyang the high open grass land with amazing views of snow covered Himalayas. In clear weather there are fine views of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, paldor peak and the saljung himal. It’s well worth making the three hour return walk along the rhododendron cloaked ridge to the lovely viewpoint at Tharuche. The best lodges are probably the great wall or Mountain View.
Day 06: Nagthali Ghyang to Thuman (2240m)
The trek starts from Nagthali Ghyang decend steeply for 820m through forest to the pleasant Tamang village of Thuman. Thuman has a small gompa, halfa dozen pleasant lodges and a couple hard to find homestays and is a fine place to spend an afternoon exploring.
Day 07: Thuman to Timure (1760m)
Follow the ridge northeast traversing a rocky hillside then descend 640m steeply via Dalphedi to cross the Bhote Kosi River. From here hike north along the road to Timure. There are many peaceful guest houses.
Day 08: Timure to Bridim (2260m)
From Timure follow the road downstream for an hour to an easily missed footpath branching left up to Lingling, where food and charming lodging is available at the traditional lingling Homestay. From lingling it’s a two hour, 400m ascent to briddim.
Day 09: Bridim to SybruBesi
It’s all downhill through pine forest to Sybrubesi, via Wangal. Alternatively link up with the langtang trek by taking the high northern route via Khanjung and Syarpagaon. This is last day of our treks. We rest in hotel after finishing the treks.
Day 10: Sybrubesi to Kathmandu by bus or jeep
NIne hours drive to kathmandu after Breakfast.
Day 11: Departure
