Maya Bay in Thailand has reopened to visitors after a temporary closure. While swimming is not allowed within the bay to protect the reef, you can still enjoy the island's beauty. Please note that the island may close again from August to September to allow for natural recovery. We urge all visitors to respect these measures and help preserve the delicate ecosystem of Maya Bay.
While we can't guarantee a monkey sighting since they're wild creatures, we'll do our best to get you close while prioritizing your safety. Monkey interactions will be from a safe distance on our boat, as they can sometimes bite unexpectedly.
We recommend that you bring along items you would normally bring to the beach, such as sun-tan lotion, hats, sunglasses, beach towels waterproof bags or plastic bag, and a change of clothes if needed. While our boat does have a toilet, it may be cramped if you need to change clothes inside. Therefore, we recommend wearing your swimsuit under your clothing to make it easier to change. We would like to inform you that the motion experienced on our speedboat tour may be intense and could potentially cause motion sickness to some passengers. To alleviate this, we have made seasick pills available for free at our marina office upon check-in. It is important to note that while the pills can help, they may not be suitable for everyone and it is recommended that you consult with your doctor prior to taking them if you have any medical concerns. Our priority is the comfort and safety of all our guests, and we appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
We do provide our guests with complementary soft drinks and water, as well as fresh fruits, during their visit to Khai Island. However, please be aware that additional services, such as beach chair rental and the purchase of alcoholic drinks, may be offered and charged by the local vendors.
Unfortunately, due to our tight tour schedules, our adventures aren't ideal for cruise ship guests. We sincerely apologize for this limitation and any inconvenience it may cause. We encourage you to explore other options for experiencing the area during your cruise stop. We wish you a wonderful time on your journey!

Beautiful Phi Phi January 2025 Visiting Phuket with family. Booked a day excursion to Phi Phi island by speed boat with lunch. Excursion Phuket organises these tours and communication via whats app is prompt and real time - very very clear and concise. Pick up from Hotel at alocated time, smooth journey to marina even through rush hour traffic. Boat and actual tour organised by Diamond sea marine, great organisation to separate around 200 people into small groups of 15-20 per boat and run the day like clockwork. Phi Phi do island- monkey beach nice but nothing special ( have seen loads of monkeys before any way), next stop 500 meters away for snorkelling was nice, plenty of small fish and corrals, but if you’ve dived off Great Barrier Reef or in Mauritius, then this pales in perspective. Next up Lunch- was very organised keeping in mind they are catering for 100’s of people from various points in Phuket not just your tour. I am Vegetarian and had a whole section for vegetarians specifically with a tasty selection of curries. Loved this. Next straight after your meal and 15 to 20 mins chill time you head off on the boat again. Phi Phi Le island- some caves on the way to a beautiful lagoon, lots of pictures and some swimming, enjoyed that. But churns up the lunch you just ate, either take antacids or take it in your stride. Then on to the famous Maya beach for pictures, no swimming allowed. If it was you wouldn’t want to leave there!! Then return trip to Phuket via Kai island, stop there to encourage you to spend some of your dosh on jet skis and alcohol. Can snorkel there but nothing to see and very strong currents. Once back at the marina your bus is waiting to take you back. Things to keep in mind: 1 Sun safety- spf50, rashies, water shoes etc 2 Sea sickness medication- best to take for those prone to this, although the speed boat was fine. Antacids may help as well. Keep rehydrating. 3 Fully charged devices as you will take lots of pictures and a water proof bag for these, under water pouches/housing etc 4 keep a check of your belongings as very easy to leave stuff behind in all the excitement. I left my Seac 2mm top in the bus back to the hotel, contacted Excursion Phuket and they organised with the driver, it was dropped off to the reception in 30 minutes. 5 Cash in local currency, the crew work hard to look after you and I feel in this case a little to show your appreciation goes a long way( even though in Oz we generally do not tip) Overall enjoyed the day, wasn’t sea sick, no accidents, saw some beautiful places and got back safe, thanks to Diamond sea and Excursion Phuket Very grateful and a big thank you to them would highly recommend.
It was good but it was way too crowded.
