Traditional wooden boats called Pletna are manned by members of an age-old profession. The history of these boatmen dates as far back as 1590, when only members of 20 families were allowed to be trained in the art. This profession was commonly passed down from generation to generation - so perhaps you will meet someone with generations of Pletna boating experience running deep in their blood.
