Itinerary

  • Davidka Square

Food Tour in Jerusalem, on this tour of Jerusalem, discover the city's diverse ethnic and religious communities through their bread. Meet Shira at Davidaka Square (right next to the Machane Yehuda market), and together, you will venture into Jerusalem's ultra-Orthodox neighborhoods, visit Damascus Gate and explore some of Machane Yehuda market's best bakeries and breads. While these very different quarters are close to each other, this ~3 hour tour does involve some walking so make sure to wear comfortable shoes. You will be sampling baked goods, such as challa (braided bread), rugelach (pastry), Jerusalem bagel and pita bread! Please note that since you will be visiting religious neighborhoods with dress codes, it is important to wear attire that covers your elbows and knees. It is also recommended that guests refrain from wearing bold colors or tight clothing. Friday is a "short day" in Israel meaning shops and businesses close at midday and so Shira only offers the tour only in the morning.
