Important: This trail is located in a humid habitat, so it is common to find flooded areas where we will have to cross, it also has very narrow passages and places that, in order to progress, it is necessary to use your hands to make small climbs and overcome obstacles. For a safe experience, we recommend that participants are in shape, have physical strength and are used to taking challenging walks in nature.
What to bring: Comfortable footwear and clothing suitable for mountain walks (weather conditions can vary rapidly). Gin pants will not be accepted to carry out this track.
Mandatory: Hiking boots/shoes (tennis shoes and other types of shoes with flat soles are not acceptable for this hike).
Important: bring at least 1 liter of water and a small snack for when we reach the base of the Caldeira. It is advisable to wear clothing that covers your arms and legs due to the presence of brambles at the base of the crater.
If the participants are not in good physical condition to perform this walk safely, and/or are not adequately equipped and advised the guide can cancel this activity (without right to refund). In case the guide has to cancel the descent to Caldeira, and if there are more participants, the customers will have to return to the start of the track, and wait for the return of the group, or, return to the accommodation (in this case the expenses are the responsibility of the customer).
In case of cancellation due to weather conditions, a refund will be made but €6 per participant will be deducted from the Faial Natural Park entrance fee.
