Firstly despite the one star review I want to say that my guide and driver were fantastic. I had a great time exploring Luxor and the specialist knowledge and care and attention by the guide was fantastic. What I did have a poor experience was with the tour operator. It has come to my attention that the tour operator never shares customer contact details with drivers because they are afraid of being undercut. However that makes things like airport transfers incredibly challenging in an airport like Cairo. I wasn’t advised where my driver would pick me up, his name, his car, where I should locate them. The communication here is very poor and any issues require going through WhatsApp chat with a tour operator before being passed on to the driver which adds unnecessary time and stress to the whole process I also wasn’t advised at any stage that part of my itinerary (hot air balloon) could not be completed. The tour company had ample time to clarify this with me prior and chose not to. Customers have a right to clear communication and this fell extremely short Companies who cannot trust their drivers or their team will find it incredibly challenging to build a successful business because in the end it causes more burden and stress on the customer.
