Bosque Protector Cerro Blanco
The opportunity to see the great biodiversity of this trail will allow you to get to know the endemic fauna and flora of the area. More than 54 species of mammals, 24 species of bats and more than 240 species of birds have been recorded! From 4 to 5 hours, 6.5 km long, it is the continuation of the Higueron Trail until reaching the top of the mountain where the trails are delimited. At this point there is a viewpoint that allows you to observe landscapes on the east side of the forest. Due to the altitude, the presence of fog in the morning and the abundant vegetation, the climate is much cooler. In this route you will reach remnants of primary forest with large evergreen trees that provide trees that provide protection and food for the fauna, which makes it easier to observe them.

This tour is great for anyone looking to combine a 7km hike in a tropical dry forest with wildlife spotting. We heard & saw a troop of howler monkeys at close proximity. The guide Benjamin was very knowledgeable and able to explain everything in both Spanish & English. The private transport from the hotel to Cerro Blanco was punctual & reliable.
