Then, we will visit the Sloth Sanctuary, a refuge managed by Gamboa Rainforest and the Pan American Conservation Association (APPC). This is not a zoo, but a sanctuary for the rehabilitation of rescued animals, which includes a butterfly house, nursery, and frog observatory. Please note that this part of the tour is not exclusive, so other people from different companies or agencies may be present. Each reservation helps support the conservation efforts of the sanctuary and also supports small local organizations working in the Gatun Lake area. This tour is designed for those seeking a unique experience, exploring the biodiversity of Panama’s rainforest and learning about the conservation efforts in the region. However, viewing animals in their natural habitat is not guaranteed at all times, as they may be elusive or hidden in their environment.
