Our experience starts in the morning, so that we can see the best lights and landscapes during the sunrise. We will take the route that follows the Tomebamba river until its origins. Once we get to our first stop, we will walk for about an hour around the Zorrocucho Lake. It has some nice catwalks with very well designed balconies for photos. We will avoid the crowds by leaving early in the morning and we will also make sure that we have availability to enter (no more than 200 visitors enter this place a day). Then, we will have some very fresh and home made food at a restaurant that is a ¨well kept secret" by locals. This restaurant belongs to a pioneer family of the area who has very interesting photos of some adventures on the wall of the restaurant and will gladly share an anecdote with us. They have some delicious potato soup, trout, chicken, beef, and some vegetarian dishes. After that, we are going to hike on a path to see another beautiful lake, mountains, llamas and birds (El Cajas is known to be the area with the highest concentration of different bird species in the world). After our adventure, we will return to Cuenca, talking about our beautiful experience.
