The "Kaikai YOKAI Festival 2025" will take place from Saturday, September 13, to Sunday, November 30, 2025.
Long ago, Japan was said to be a paradise for yokai (spirits and monsters). However, as traditional townscapes gradually disappeared, so too did the places where yokai could dwell. Guided by Yakko Doji, the caretaker of the festival, the yokai have now relocated to the Toei Kyoto Studio Park, where the atmosphere of Edo still lingers. The town has been transformed into a world filled with countless yokai.
Meet them, dance and play together, and before you know it, you may become part of their world. Step into a realm overflowing with both eerie thrills and delightful fun, and an unforgettable yokai experience awaits.
Toei Kyoto Studio Park was established in 1975 as a theme park where visitors can experience Japanese historical dramas (Jidaigeki films) through outdoor sets, events, and attractions for the first time in Japan. We have served over 65 million customers.
Observe the filming of Japanese TV and Movies!
You can observe Japanese historical dramas (Jidaigeki films) filmed in TOEI Kyoto Studio Park. The outdoor sets rebuild a street of the Edo period. You can enjoy the atmosphere of ancient Japan by walking on Cinema Road, where an old Kyoto town is well recreated. You may also have a chance to see actual TV and movie shooting.
Enjoy the world of Jidaigeki, the Japanese historical drama!
You can transform yourself into a samurai or ninja of the Edo period by wearing movie costumes and makeup (at the studio of historical drama costumes [charged]). Enjoy taking pictures with old Kyoto as the background and walking in the studio park while dressed up!
There are various entertainment attractions for kids and character fans!
Super Sentai and Kamen Rider are TOEI’s two major hero series. At "Super Sentai × Kamen Rider Hero Land" in the Padios area, you can experience the world of all the past Kamen Riders produced by TOEI. You can also enjoy the exhibition of Super Sentai and Pretty Cure. And character events are held on weekends. The exciting character shows are very popular with children.
