One of the first stops will be made at a bat cave, known to be the home of hundreds of bats. Together with your guide and armed with a torch, you will find yourself staring across the ceiling where these peaceful, flapping mammals. Langkawi is known for its close connection with the eagle. At Kilim, particularly the white-bellied fish eagle can be spotted as you further cruise leisurely down the Kilim River. Next, visit Crocodile Cave, a natural limestone cave named for its shape, which resembles a crocodile’s open mouth when viewed from the exit. While there are old stories suggesting crocodiles once lived here, none are found in the area today. The cave is only accessible during low tide and connects different parts of the river system. You may also see Shoes Island, located off the northern coast of Langkawi. This island is known for its distinctive shape, which looks like a giant shoe.
