Highlights

This is an independent three day tour departing Wellington daily with two nights in a 4 - 4.5 star accommodation in Rotorua prior to your tour concluding in Auckland on day 3. The tour includes a full day in Rotorua with a guided tour at Whakarewarewa. On day three the tour travels to Auckland via Waitomo where you will experience a guided tour of the glowworm caves. Hotel pick-ups and drop-offs are included for all transfers and activities listed.

Wellington to Rotorua

  • Wellington

    This morning collected from your Wellington accommodation and transferred to your coach for the trip today by road, travelling North to Rotorua.

  • Lake Taupo

    Admission Ticket Free
    Your journey north today will take you initially along the Kapiti Coast with views of Cook Straight and the on a clear day the South Island of New Zealand. It is then north to Palmerston North and then the Central Plateau with snow covered volcanic peaks for much of the year. The next stop is Lake Taupo, New Zealand largest lake, before travelling onto Rotorua.

    Arriving Rotorua late afternoon and transferred to your central hotel accommodation.

    This morning collected from your accommodation and transferred to Whakarewarewa geothermal reserve and Maori Living Village. Here you will enjoy a guided tour and Maori Cultural performance.

  • Rotorua

    Early afternoon transferred back to your hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure to explore Rotorua, this thermal wonderland on your own. You may like to visit the Government Gardens, wander along the lake front, do some shopping in the central township or visit one of the many attractions the city has to offer, such as the Skyline Gondola, Agrodome or Canopy Ziplining.

Day Three: Rotorua – Waitomo Caves – Auckland

    Morning at leisure, an opportunity to do some of the last minute shopping or further explore the township.

    Early afternoon collected from your accommodation and travel by road to Waitomo and the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves. Tour cave formations, stalactites and stalagmites by boat through a Glowworm Cavern lit up with thousands of glowworm lights. Mid-afternoon depart Waitomo for Auckland

  • Auckland Central

    Admission Ticket Free
    Arriving Auckland Central City early evening where you will be dropped off at your designated Auckland accommodation and your tour will conclude.
