Highlights

Travel by road on a full day tour from Christchurch to Mount Cook, Australasia's highest mountain. Along the way you'll pass through the spectacular scenery of the Canterbury Plains, view MacKenzie Basin, Lakes Tekapo and Pukari and Tasman Glacier. Stop at Tekapo for some picture-esque photos and travel onwards to the Mt Cook Heritage Village. Enjoy a lunch at the Hermitage Hotel. Itinerary

  • Lake Tekapo

    30 minsAdmission Ticket Free
    You will travel by road to Mount Cook through the Canterbury Plains, foothills of the Southern Alps and the MacKenzie Basin. Your will make a short stop en route to the either the Kiwi Country or Tin Shed (an old shearing shed selling discount sweaters) or at Barkers (the largest fruit winery in NZ) for sampling of unique New Zealand products. You will then make a stop at the beautiful Lake Tekapo for morning tea and a photo opportunity.

  • Lake Pukaki

    10 minsAdmission Ticket Free
    Continue on to Lake Pukaki which affords some incredible views of Mt Cook, New Zealand's highest mountain, on a clear day.

  • The Hermitage Hotel

    45 minsAdmission Ticket Included
    On arriving at Mt Cook National Park, make a stop at the Hermitage Hotel for lunch.

  • Tasman Glacier

    30 minsAdmission Ticket Free
    Your guide will drive into the Tasman Glacier where a fifteen to twenty minute climb by foot will take you to a vantage point which provides beautiful views of both the Tasman Glacier and Lake Tasman.

  • Fairlie

    20 minsAdmission Ticket Free
    Return to Christchurch via road. A short stop will be made in Fairly for afternoon tea.
