The Peranakannitat Museum, located at the crossroads of Phang Nga Road and Phuket Road, is housed inside what was once the 'Standard Chartered Bank.' It's a small museum, but the setting and the Sino-Portuguese architecture are worth a visit. According to a very brief video presented on the second level, the Peranakan initially migrated from China centuries ago and lived in the Thalang region. Museums in Phuket used to be run-down structures, like to the Thalang Museum or even the massive Phuket Mining Museum in Kathu, thus we don't rank them high on our list of Things to Do in Phuket.
