Čaršija is the old Ottoman hilltop town, evoking the city's past with winding alleys filled with tea rooms, mosques, artisan shops and even a good nightlife. It also has the best historical structures in Skopje and a handful of museums. It is the first place where every visitor should go. Čaršija connects the stone bridge to Bit Pazar, a large market for vegetables and household goods. Expect to lose yourself pleasantly in its maze of narrow streets.
