Hiking the Double Canyon

  Pick up from your hotel at 8am. By 4x4 land cruiser, we will start our journey into the Sinai Desert. In the desert, we will have some Bedouin tea, which is a tradition for all visitors of this area. Our first objective will be a 1.5 hr hike in the Double Canyon. It will take some scrambling to follow this beautiful narrow canyon, but it is accessible for people with moderate fitness. The hike will give you lots of amazing photo opportunities. After a rest and lunch, we will take a tour to see some places with very well-preserved rock inscriptions, some dating as far as 2.000 yr back in time! The most important one is the drawing of a hunter hunting a lion, an animal that is not native to this area anymore. On our way to Zigzag Canyon, we will have a photo stop at The Hasa’h, which is Bedouin name for this peculiar balancing stone. Dinner will be served in Zigzag canyon, where we will also set up our camp and spend the night under the stars.
