After picking you up from the hotel located in the city of Lima, we will start the city tour at the wonderful Larco Museum, located in the traditional neighborhood of Pueblo Libre. The museum was founded by the Peruvian archaeologist Rafael Larco Hoyle in 1926, in a beautiful mansion with amazing gardens dating from the eighteen century. The Larco Museum has a complete collection of more than 5000 pieces of pre Columbian art made with gold and silver, as well as ceramics, and erotic art. Chronologically, we will stroll through incredible salons to learn about ancient Peruvian civilizations.

The tour continues in the historic center of Lima. Declared a UNESCO World’s Heritage Site in 1988, this place houses awesome squares, colonial mansions, and a lot of history. We will visit Casa de Aliaga, a colonial house built in 1536, full of invaluable arte and history. Until now, this jewel of the architecture is still inhabited by descendants of Jeronimo de Aliaga y Ramirez family, a Spanish conqueror and ally of Francisco Pizarro.

Breakfast at the hotel. We will pick you up from the hotel located in the city of Cusco in order to start the tour to The Sacred Valley of the Incas. The valley is located 9.3 miles northeast from the city and it has been used by the Inca Empire for the good location and weather qualities, especially for the fertile lands that are perfect for crops. The Sacred Valley altitude is 2,800 meters above sea level and it has one of the best weathers in the region. The valley houses a unique flora and fauna with wild flowers and wildlife as vizcacha, puma, skunk, among others. We will arrive at the small town of Pisac after a road trip of 20.5 miles. This fantastic place has an amazing craft market and Inca sites with stone buildings and incredible views to the valley, and the wonderful Inca platforms.

After exploring the market of Pisac, we will continue the tour until reach the town of Urubamba to enjoy a traditional Peruvian food in a local restaurant, situated on the banks of the Urubamba River. This buffet lunch offers regional flavors, and you can taste alpaca and trout.

Later, we will reach the town of Ollantaytambo located at 2,792 meters above sea level. The Inca ruins of Ollantaytambo was the headquarter of Inca’s army, as well as a religious and agricultural place. It has stunning views, and more than a hundred Inca platforms with an advanced irrigation canal for that period. You will climb many steps until get the top of the Fortress and you will visit main sites such as the ceremonial center of the Temple Hill. Here, we are going to explore different places including the wall of the six monoliths also known as the Temple of the Sun.

Breakfast at the hotel. Early morning, you will board the bus to go up the winding road to Machu Picchu. The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, will astonish us with its terraces, ceremonial shrines, steps and urban areas. Energy is all around us.

Early in the morning, we will pick you up from the hotel located in the city of Cusco to start a fascinating tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our first stop will be at the town of Chinchero, situated 17 miles from Cusco city. Here, we will visit a local workshop to appreciate the ancestral techniques to create amazing textiles. Every Sunday the colorful and wonderful Chinchero market is open, where you will discover a great variety of handcraft and clothes.

Then, we will visit the salt mines of Maras located on an open hill in Urubamba’s valley. This place has an impressive process created by Incas, where a subterranean stream evaporates salty water and it emerges at a spring. The flow is then directed into an intricate system of tiny channels constructed so that the water runs gradually down onto the several hundred ancient terraced ponds. The water, which is exposed to the sun, leaves salt on the land.

After visiting the salt mines near Maras, head to the Moray ruins, which are made up of three coliseums thought to have been used by the Incas as a sort of open air crop laboratory. The coliseums consist of several enormous terraced circular depressions, the largest of which is about 30 meters (98 feet) deep. Admire these terraces which are arranged in concentric circles and are reminiscent of an ancient Greek theater.

Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, we’ll pick you up from the hotel, and start the tour visiting the Temple of the Sun well-known as Koricancha. This symbolic place has a clear example of the fusion between Incan and Hispanic cultures, and its base was used to build Santo Domingo’s Church and its famous convent.

Then, we’re going to visit the Cathedral located in the Main Square, to appreciate a beautiful religious paintings of the Cusco School.

The Cusco City Tour continues in Sacsayhuaman, an amazing archaeological complex with huge carved stones which fit each other in a perfect way, and it is said that it was built by more than 20 thousand men, and took over 70 years to finish it.

Then we will visit Qenqo religious temple, place where the Incas worshiped their Gods like the Sun, the Moon and the Earth. You will have an incredible experience exploring through its underground galleries, and admire a semicircular amphitheater.

We will continue this entertaining excursion in the military compound of Puca Pucara, which means “Red Fortress” for its reddish infrastructure.

Then we will go the water’s worship center of Tambomachay, with aqueducts and waterfalls provided from nearby springs.
