We will take our lunch break in Øystese directly on the Hardangerfjord, at the Spildegarden Sider Farm. (incl.)
In the afternoon, coffee and cake will be served at the traditional Hotel Utne which is located directly on the Hardangerfjord. (incl.)
We then proceed along a mountain road that runs parallel to the Hardangerfjord, where the fruit trees are so close to the road that it feels as though you are driving through a vibrant garden.
Our ferry leaves Jondal at 16:50, the crossing takes about 20 minutes. The return journey to your hotel then only takes 1.5 hours.
We make photo stops as often as we want.

15 minsAdmission Ticket FreeWe've now been on the road for just over half an hour, time for a short break. We stop at the viewpoint in Trengereid, from where we have a fantastic view of the East Fjord and the island of Osterøy. There is also a small bakery and public toilets here. We stay here for 15 min, driving time to the next stop is about 45 min. On the way to the Steindalsfossen waterfall we pass two more waterfalls, the Mørkhølsfossen and the Fossenbratte waterfall, if the weather is nice, we can make a short photo stop here too.Steinsdalsfossen
25 minsAdmission Ticket FreeThe Steinsdalsfossen waterfall near Norheimsund is truly spectacular. You can walk behind the waterfall without getting wet, allowing for a unique perspective. Formed in 1699 when the river sought a new course, Steinsdalsfossen boasts a height of approximately 50 meters. A pathway leads behind the waterfall, providing unobstructed access to the space between the rock face and the cascading water, making it one of Norway's most visited waterfalls. Tourist information and public restrooms are conveniently located at the parking area. A short path over an old stone arch bridge will guide you to the waterfall. If you wish, you can also take a break at a charming café situated just behind the bridge, where you can enjoy the soothing sound of the rushing stream. We will spend 25 minutes here, and the drive to our next stop will take about 15 minutes.Oystese

The lounge is warm and inviting, complete with a fireplace, and offers a stunning view of the Hardangerfjord—truly a quintessential Norwegian experience. If the farmer is available, he may give us a tour of the cider production process. For those interested, there is an opportunity to purchase cider and other farm products. This route takes us past idyllic villages, lush orchards, and breathtaking mountain backdrops that frame the fjord. Our ferry departs at 2:00 PM, and the crossing takes only 20 minutes. As we board, we have access to modern amenities, including clean restrooms and a small kiosk where snacks and beverages can be purchased. From the upper deck of the ferry, you'll have the opportunity to capture incredible photos—the views of the majestic mountains and the deep green water are simply spectacular. The gentle waves and the wind in your hair make this ride an unforgettable experience. The distance between the two towns is about 36 km, and the drive takes approximately 35 minutes. We can enjoy the beautiful scenery and admire the typical orchards of the region. This trip is highly recommended for anyone looking to explore Norway's breathtaking nature. Most restaurants in Bergen close their kitchens by 21:00, giving you ample time to find a suitable place for dinner.
