Poor way to organize entering procedure. Long queues everywhere (even with on-line ticket). Site itself is very inspiring.

Reduced tickets available onsite for 65+ EU citizens, and young Citizen (6-25) from non-European countries (upon current ID to prove age)
You may enter at any time of day, regardless of timeslot
Pre Purchase
Children under 5, EU citizens under 25 and EU citizens students get in free, no need to select a ticket
Free entrance for all: every 1st Sunday from 1 Nov-31 Mar and on selected dates
Post Purchase

The Archaeological Site is only 5 kilometers from Heraklion you can take a car or the bus that leaves from Heraklion bus station. There's free parking near the site's entrance.
