Take part in our interactive workshop and get to know the art of weaving. Learn how to use a loom and create your own work of art inspired by the Greek Folk Culture. This experience brings the art of weaving to life starting from wool and ending with textiles. You will be guided through our permanent exhibition and see how the wool becomes a thread in order to be woven. You will then be served coffee, tea, and Greek delicacies while watching a short film on how the locals work with wool. Next, you will use your creativity and skills in order to create your masterpiece on the loom with the help of our instructor. This hands-on experience is suitable for children & adults, families, small groups, and individuals. Learning is realized in all kinds of looms using natural ecological materials. You will be inspired by woven objects which are based on the long history of weaving art from all over Greece. All participants will make and take their own masterpiece choosing any of the below: • Drink coasters (set of 4) • Placemat (1) - size 45cm x 30cm • Clutch/pouch (1) - size 15cm x 17cm • Scatter rug (1) - size 50cm x 30cm • Hand-woven bracelet (1) • Tapestry on portable frame (1)
