Highlights

A trip to Mission Beach and Dunk Island is an adventure lovers best day out. Not only visit Dunk Island but also have time to explore Mission beach and perhaps enjoy a sunset dinner and drink before heading back to Cairns.


Our purpose built fast-cat island ferry gives a comfortable voyage and pleasurable experience for all passengers. Our main deck has 45 high back coach style seating and a fully licensed bar. Upper deck we have deluxe outside seating. We visit Dunk Island for almost 6 hours which gives the most disconcerting hiker or explorer time to indulge themselves in any of the island's wonderful walks. Dunk Island is truly the jewel island of Far North Queensland and is the perfect day out for soft adventure seekers.


Come spend a magical day south of Cairns on the Cassowary Coast.

  • Dunk Island

    Dunk Island is covered mostly in national park, the tropical island is a nature lover’s playground with beautiful walking trails and palm-fringed beaches. From the jetty, make a left and follow the beach until you reach the track signs leading to Muggy Muggy Beach and Mount Kootaloo. The are 6 different versions of the hikes possible from easy to moderate. There also great swimming from Brammo Bay as well as Muggy Muggy Beach where some marine life snorkelling is possible. Scenic coast ferry ride and marina boarding process with a light breakfast (included) within this time allocation (5.5 hours actually on the island 9.30am - 3.00pm)

    The journey to Mission Beach normally takes just under 2 hours from Cairns in each direction. But the journey is well worth it. You'll pass by Queensland's two highest maintains Mount Bartle Frere and Mount Bellenden Kerr. You'll pass by canfields and banana farms, see how the locals live. Then, when we turn off the highway you'll travel through dense Djiru National Park where you may be lucky to spot a wild cassowary.
