Entering the Grand Dukes dei Medici’ Offices, the Uffizi, from where they conducted their Running of the Tuscan states, one enters now in a treasure trove of Paintings. Their 15, 16, and 17 C. Halls, many still with their original decoration, are covered with works by Giotto and Duccio, Piero della Francesca and Botticelli, Beato Angelico and Lippi, Leonardo and Raffaello, Titian and Veronese, Caravaggio and the Carracci brothers etc. In front of this sequence of marvels, you are left to wonder. Joining are the corridors with views down Vasari’s covered parlour leading on one side to the Museum’s entrance and to the other side straight to the Ponte Vecchio.
