Highlights
Enjoy a private tour to Borgarfjordur Eystri, the home of puffins and elves.
Pick up is in Egilsstaðir or Seydisfjordur (If pickup is not in Egilsstaðir please contact us).
From pickup point we drive for aprox. 1,5 hr to the town of Borgarfjordur. We will make a few stops on the road to and away from our destinations. During the stops the guide will tell you the stories that happened there and you will be able to take stunning photos or videos.
When we get to the town our first stop will be Hafnarhólmi where the puffins are during the summer. We will be able to get up close to them and who knows if they will pose for you.
After the sight seeing we will drive around the town and we reccomend to stop at one of the cafes to taste the local food and enjoy the company of the locals.
When we make our way from the town we start our drive back and as mentioned we will make a few stops on our way back as well.

Njarðvíkurskriður
30 minsAdmission Ticket FreeWe will stop at the cross at Njarðvíkurskriður, this area is surrounded by mistery. Until the year 1949, when a passable road came about, all traffic through the Njarðvíkurskriður screes between Njarðvík and Borgarfjörður Eystri was either on foot or on horseback. Njarðvíkurskriður were considered extremely dangerous, especially in winter, because of avalanches and, when raining heavily, mudslides. In such conditions, travellers in the area were putting their lives on the line. The screes hold sheer cliff drops down to the sea and above them steep slopes of mudslides, riddled with gullies.Hafnarhólmi

20 minsAdmission Ticket FreeOur last stop before heading back we will stop at peaceful little haven, located at road 94 beside the Selfljót river south of Ketilsstaðir farm on the way out Héraðsflói. Here still stands a small cabin and a boathouse both of which belonged to Iceland´s master painter Jóhannes S. Kjarval (1889 -1972). When this master painter had spent two summers here a tent, just before 1950, the farmer at Ketilsstaðir presented him the piece of land in question and built the cabin which still stands.
