  Upon arrival at Vientiane Airport you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to the hotel for check-in. If you time permits, take a half-day city tour and start you visit with the Wat Sisaket that is known for thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. En route to Lao’s national precious heritage, the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa. Take some photos of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. The final visit of the day will be the excellent COPE Exhibition Center, highlighting a much overlooked aspect of Laos and a major problem many of the local people face on a day to day basis in the form of unexplored ordnance as a result of heavy bombing campaigns during the Vietnam War era. • Great Sacred Stupa (Pha That Luang)

  The Pha That Luang or “Great Stupa” is the most important Buddhist monument in Laos. The large golden stupa in Vientiane is believed to enshrine a breast bone of the Buddha. The pagoda also known as That Luang is officially named Pha Chedi Lokajulamani, which translates to “World Precious Sacred Stupa”
