Without a doubt, the Ingapirca Archaeological Complex is the largest and best preserved in Ecuador. Nestled in the dry, windswept mountain ranges of the southern mountain range, 80 km north of Cuenca and at 3,180 meters above sea level
On the way you can see interesting Andean landscapes and people in colorful costumes. Next to the cart we find the famous "cascaritas" typical dish of the area made with pork base. Ingapirca offers us an incredible visit to the past, getting to know the Cañari and Inca cultures. Marvel at the different modes of construction of the temples as well as the precision of the solar calculations and the aqueduct system.
We also visit the striking Church of the Virgen del Rocío that stands on the cliffs of the nearby town of Biblián.
Depending on the day that the tour takes place, the visit will vary slightly, these are the options:
Wed, Thu, Sat: Cuenca - Biblián. Stop at the "Tejedoras de Biblián". (The weavers are located on the Cuenca-Cañar highway)
Friday: Cuenca - Ingapirca - Animal and Handicraft Market.
Sunday: Cuenca - Cañar Market in the town of Cañar. Very colorful market.
