Communication with the tour operator was initially prompt via WhatsApp once the booking was made. However, I did have to prompt a few times for the pickup time which was the next day. This was confirmed quite late the night before the tour. I also let them know the name of the pickup hotel but they were insistent on an address as well as a Google pin due to the number of Aloft hotels there were in Dubai. I had to ask for the details of vehicle on the morning of the pickup which came through so whilst the initial, general tour comms was good, the detail had to be extracted. The tour itself went okay. There were four participants plus guide and driver. The tour guide, Thomas, was knowledgeable on facts and figures of Abu Dhabi and its history. The driving could have been better. It’s a long and straight stretch of road between Dubai and Abu Dhabi and unfortunately, the mini bus did swerve a number of times. We suspect the driver was quite tired and was maybe having micro snoozes at the wheel. The bus whilst clean and modern was lacking tinted windows and it was quite hot on a 38 degree Celsius day, even with the AC blasting. The visit to Abu Dhabi itself was well worth it from Dubai. Would definitely visit again and spend a bit more time there.
