The beauty of this region is unique. The Canyons of Cambará do Sul are a must-see destination! Situated on the border of the state of Rio Grande do Sul with Santa Catarina, in the region of Campos de Cima da Serra, the canyons are of a unique beauty, with walls that reach 900m high. From there you can see the Atlantic Ocean, some cities on the northern coast of the RS and also of SC. The basaltic formations give the exact dimension of all geological events that occurred millions of years ago.
The walks you will make will be at a calm pace, the trails have a small difficulty degree and the landscapes are stunning: waterfalls, rivers, the displacement of the canyons and the fields to lose sight of. The lush Atlantic forest with araucaria forests and a very rich fauna, make these walks an exercise of peace and incredible reconnection.
Itinerary
Itaimbezinho Canyon
3 hoursAdmission Ticket Not IncludedWe will do two trails in the Aparados da Serra National Park: the Cotovelo Trail and the Vértice Trail. On the first trail we will see the canyon walls, which reach up to 720m in height, the Rio do Boi and we will walk along a trail inside the Atlantic Forest with Araucaria Forest. After we return, we will start the Vértice Trail, where we will see the Véu de Noiva waterfall and the Andorinhas waterfall. The degree of difficulty of the trails is small and in this park we will walk 7.5 km. The park has a good structure of toilets and a small snack bar where you can buy drinks and small snacks.Fortaleza Canyon
2 hoursAdmission Ticket Not IncludedIn Serra Geral National Park, we will take the Fortaleza Mirante Trail, from where we will see the Atlantic Ocean and some of the cities on the north coast of Rio Grande do Sul and the coast of Santa Catarina. The walls of Fortaleza reach approximately 900m in height and the beauty of Campos de Cima da Serra that form the edge of the Canyon, in contrast to the depth and grandeur of the Canyon, form a stunningly beautiful landscape. The walk has a small degree of difficulty and the trail is about 2km away. The Park has restrooms and a kiosk for the purchase of drinks and small snacks.
