  • Basilica and Convent of Santo Domingo, Lima

Its construction dates back to the 16th century, when the Dominican friars arrived in the city and founded a convent in the place where the church is today.   • Puente de Piedra

  • Casa de la Literatura Peruana

    Home to the old train station, it owes its name to a Jesuit chapel called “Virgen de los Desamparados” built in 1630 and which was in this space. This new building that we see is from 1913 and was at one time a train station. Since 2009, the House of Peruvian Literature has been operating here, a cultural center that belongs to the Ministry of Education. Every year this place is visited by more than 360 thousand people, many of them make use of its library called Mario Vargas Llosa, one of the most striking cultural spaces in the city.
  • Museo de Sitio Bodega y Quadra

    The Church and Convent of San Francisco was built in the 16th century, shortly after the founding of Lima by Francisco Pizarro in 1535. The church itself is a testament to colonial architectural splendor. Its façade presents an impressive combination of carved stone details and a large baroque style doorway. The convent has a cloister that is a haven of tranquility and a beautiful example of colonial architecture. However, the highlight is found underground: the catacombs that served as a cemetery during colonial times. Thousands of people were buried here, and walking through the narrow, gloomy hallways is a truly unique experience.
  • Parque de la Muralla
