At Geibi Gorge, the popular downstream boat ride lets you enjoy the breathtaking seasonal scenery from the water.
In spring, fresh greenery spreads vibrantly alongside budding flowers, as cherry blossoms and wisteria beautifully decorate the riverside. As summer arrives, the coolness of the clear stream and the gentle breeze flowing through the valley provide a perfect sense of relaxation. In autumn, the gorge is dyed with vivid autumn leaves, and its colors captivate all who visit. In winter, you can fully enjoy the snow-covered gorge—reminiscent of an ink painting—while riding a kotatsu boat.
This package includes not only the boat ride but also a selection of local treats: Ichinoseki's famous sweets and apple juice, duck feed for the adorable ducks that follow the boat, and an "Undama" (lucky stone) which is a fun tradition where, if you toss the stone into a hole in the cliff on the opposite shore, your wish is said to come true.
This special experience commemorates the upcoming 100th anniversaries of both the Ofunato Line and Geibi Gorge's designation as a Place of Scenic Beauty.
