The next part of our tour continues in the 5th arrondissement at the Place de l’Estrapade where Emily’s apartment is located. We will continue on foot in the Latin quarter, stopping at the Panthéon, the Sorbonne, and enjoying a delicious pain au chocolat/croissant/macarons in the neighborhood as we head to the gorgeous Luxembourg gardens. Built at the request of Napoleon III in the late 19th century, and the setting of the Phantom of the Opera, the Opéra Garnier is an opulent masterpiece in the heart of the 9th arrondissement.
