• Wang Lang Market
  
  Experience an authentic Thai market and street food experience while in
  Bangkok at Wang Lang Market. Wang Lang Market is located on the Chao Phraya
  River's west bank, close to Siriraj Hospital. The name "rear palace market"
  refers to the area's proximity to the Rear Palace, a now-demolished palace
  that belonged to King Rama I's nephew. Locals, particularly those from the
  nearby Siriraj Hospital, enjoy visiting the Wang Lang Market.

  
  

• Wat Arun
  
  Visit Wat Arun, also known as Wat Chaeng or the Temple of the Dawn, is a
  historic temple in Bangkok dating back to the Ayutthaya Period. It was known
  as Wat Makok during the Thonburi Period. After the capital was moved from
  Krung Si Ayutthaya to Krung Thonburi, the Emerald Buddha was transported from
  Vientiane to Wat Arun. It was later relocated to Wat Phra Kaew (the Temple of
  the Emerald Buddha). During the Rattanakosin Period, King Rama II renovated
  Wat Arun and renamed it Wat Arun Ratchatharam. Further restoration was
  completed during the reign of King Rama IV, and the temple's name was changed
  once more to Wat Arun Ratchawararam. See several notable attractions nearby,
  including the central prang, a stupa-like pagoda decorated with multicolored
  glazed porcelain tiles and seashells, Giant statues, the Ordination Hall, the
  Bell Tower, and numerous Buddha statues.

  
  

• Wat Prayoon
  
  The Wat Prayoon, or Wat Prayurawongsawas Waraviharn temple, is located near
  the western bank of the Chao Phraya River. King Rama III built the temple in
  the first half of the nineteenth century. On the temple grounds, several
  shrines and spirit houses of various sizes and shapes can be found on a large
  mound. Another prominent feature of the structure is a large white Chedi built
  in the Ayutthaya style and located at the back of the temple grounds. It was
  so well restored that UNESCO bestowed this honor in 2013.

  
  

• Santa Cruz Catholic Church
  
  Santa Cruz Church, built during King Taksin's reign in 1770, is one of
  Bangkok's many historic Catholic churches (1868–1782). This Church of the Holy
  Cross was left behind by Portuguese-Siamese connections dating back to the
  16th century. The reddish dome of the historic Catholic church stands out on
  the Chao Phraya River, nestled among old riverside homes and newer structures
  inland. This church appeared to be built in a distinctly Chinese style. As a
  result, the villagers gave the chapel the Chinese name "Kudi Jeen," and the
  surrounding neighborhood became known as Kudi Jeen.
