    Jamia Mosque is a mosque located on Banda Street, Nairobi, Kenya in the Central Business District. Jamia Mosque is an important center of Islamic practice in the East and Central African region. As a landmark and heritage site at the heart of Nairobi’s CBD, Jamia Mosque-Nairobi displays an iconic image and an architectural masterpiece. Founded by Syed Maulana Abdullah Shah in the year 1902 and constructed between 1925 and 1933, Jamia Mosque became the center of Muslim religious organization throughout the pre-independent and independent years.

    The craft market, occupying both the central part of the building and the semi-open area behind it, presents a visually enticing display that is difficult to resist. Set against the backdrop of the market's picturesque ceiling, visitors are greeted with a variety of crafts and artifacts. From antique African artifacts and beadwork to basketry, jewelry, Kisii soapstone, and wooden carvings, the market showcases the immense talent and creativity of local artisans. Life-sized animal carvings are also on display, adding a touch of wonder to the vibrant atmosphere. The craft market is particularly popular among foreign visitors, and to facilitate their transactions, money changers have established their businesses within the market premises. Originally built in 1930 near the railway line, which now runs along Loita Street, the Nairobi City Market initially served as the primary retail outlet for fruits and vegetables in the city.

The KICC is located in the City Square of Nairobi, and is a crucial address for a number of Government offices, including those of recently elected Senators.[6] It is an internationally renowned venue for conferences, meetings, exhibitions and special events within walking distance of several five star hotels. During its four-and-a-half-decade history it has been the host of several international conferences, seminars, exhibitions and summits.
  • Kenya National Archives

    Kenya National Archives and Documentation Services (KNADS) is situated at the edge of the central business district in downtown Nairobi along Moi Avenue next to Ambassadeur Hotel. The archives look out on the landmark Hilton Hotel, while on the rear side is Tom Mboya street.[2] It was established in 1965. It holds 40,000 volumes. It was established by an Act of the Parliament of Kenya in 1965 and was placed under the office of the Vice President and the Minister of Home Affairs. It is currently under the office of the Vice-President and State Department for National Heritage and Culture. The Kenya National Archives building also houses the Murumbi Gallery which contains African artifacts that were collected in the 19th century.

    The building was designed by C. Rand Ovary, the construction of which was completed in 1913 for the Ministry of Native Affairs, during colonial times, served as a government office that would have the function of counting marriages, births and deaths. From 1963, the building was used as the Provisional Commissioner's office until 1984. The building was later used as Kanu's branch office of Nairobi until 1997. In 1995, the building was declared a national monument. In 1997, ownership of the building was passed to the National Museums of Kenya. In 1999, the state corporation began the process of renovating the building. In 2005, the renovation work was completed and the gallery opened for the first time.[1] During 2019, the National Museums of Kenya collaborated with Google to digitize the Nairobi gallery's exhibits to the Google Arts & Culture platform as well as add an adapted version of Google Street View to the museum's rooms.
