Day and night trek in the highland jungle

  The tour starts at 9:00 am from the Casa de las Palmas Hostel on Carrera 11 Calle 13-110 in Leticia, Amazonas, Colombia. From there you will be transferred by land to the Tacana River, eleven kilometres outside of Leticia, to begin a two hour walk through the jungle until you reach a Huitoto maloca. Once at the maloca you will rest and prepare lunch in the traditional style. In the maloca you will have the opportunity to learn about the mambe process and understand what the coca plant means to the Huitoto ethnic group, which has been part of their ancestral tradition. In the evening you will take a walk in the jungle in search of nocturnal animals and insects for between one and two hours before returning to the maloca to spend the night sleeping in a hammock. Note: the order of activities may vary due to weather conditions or decisions of the guides as is best for the experience and safety.
