When you enter the abbey from Victoria Street, you will hear its famous "Toc-toc" bell ringing. Walk north through Green Park and turn down Horse Guards Avenue, cross Whitehall and proceed up Horse Guards.


The Cathedral of the Precious Blood of Christ at Westminster in London, England, is the principal church of the Catholic Church in England and Wales and the metropolitan church and cathedral of the Archdiocese of Westminster. It is the seat of the Primate Archbishop of the Catholic Church in England and Wales.

The Monks of the Order of St Benedict, commonly known as "Benedictines", came to England in 596 AD and became the first Christian monks to live according to the Rule of St Benedict. Their success was largely due to establishing a simple lifestyle that suited British culture. The Abbey and its grounds have been owned by succeeding religious orders since 1066 and the 600-acre site is now owned by the Crown. Henry III was buried in Westminster Abbey on his death in 1272.
