Sail to the Benagil caves in a pirate ship. Start at Portimão, at Cais Vasco da Gama, and navigate the Rio Arade. Pass the fisherman's village of Ferragudo, the 15th-century Dom João castle, and Praia Grande de Ferragudo to reach the open Atlantic Ocean.

Head east to see Praia do Pintadinho, the Ponta do Altar lighthouse, Praia dos Caneiros, and the secluded Praia da Afurada. Notice the Roman watchtower atop a high cliff, Praia do Vale da Lapa, the smuggler's cave, Praia do Paraiso, and Praia do Carvoeiro.

Continue past the rock formations and caves of Algar Seco, Praia do Vale de Centianes, the Alfanzina Lighthouse, and the Cape of Carvoeiro. Enter a smaller boat to visit the Atlantis, Crocodile, Praia do Carvalho, Deep, Eco, and Turtle Caves, Benagil Beach, the Benagil Cathedral Cave, and the Submarine Cave.
